Paddock

Terms of Service

Effective October 16, 2026

The short version

Paddock shows you and your convoy on a live map, lets you drive together, and lets you find car meets. It is run by Paddock, an independent developer based in New York. By making an account you agree to everything below. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Drive first, phone second

This is the most important term here. Paddock gives driving directions to a convoy, but it is not a substitute for paying attention to the road. Do not hold, look at, or interact with your phone while driving. Set your route and your convoy before you move, mount your phone if you use it at all, and follow every traffic law that applies to you. The app never overrides them.

About the directions specifically: they are guidance, not instructions you must follow. Routes come from a third-party mapping service and can be wrong, out of date, or illegal for your vehicle. Arrival times do not account for traffic and will be optimistic. The road in front of you, the signs on it and the law always win over anything on the screen. If the app tells you to do something unsafe or unlawful, do not do it.

You are solely responsible for how you drive. Paddock is not responsible for collisions, citations, injuries, or damage arising from your use of the app, including anything that happens while following a convoy. Convoy leaders are not drivers' instructors and have no authority over anyone else's vehicle.

Using Paddock to organise, coordinate, or document street racing, takeovers, speed contests, stunt driving, or any other illegal use of a public road is a violation of these terms and will get the account permanently removed.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use Paddock. If you are under 18 you must have a parent or guardian's permission. You must have a valid driver's licence to use it while driving a vehicle, and you may not use it at all if a court, a store, or we have previously banned you.

One account per person. Do not share your login, and tell us at [email protected] if you think somebody else has it.

Your location

The app's whole purpose is sharing where you are, so read this and the Privacy Policy carefully.

Your position is shown only to people in a live convoy with you. Joining a convoy shares your position with everyone in it for as long as you are in it; leaving it, or the convoy ending, stops that immediately. Outside a convoy nobody can see you. Ghost mode in your profile goes further and hides you even from a convoy you have joined, and you can also limit sharing to only while you are actually moving, so your home address is not sitting on a map when you are parked in your driveway.

Anyone with a convoy's join code can enter it and see everyone in it. Share that code the way you would share your address, because for as long as the convoy runs, that is roughly what it is. A leader can also post a convoy to the Events tab and the map. Any signed-in account can then open it and see its route and the names and pictures of the people in it, and can join it without the code; once somebody has joined they also see where everyone in the convoy is on the map. Post a convoy only if you are comfortable with that. Taking a posted convoy down stops new people finding it; it does not remove anyone who has already joined. You can block any member from the convoy roster.

Only share with people you would be comfortable having show up where you are. We cannot control what somebody does with a location you chose to show them.

What you post

You own what you post: your photos, messages, meets, Threads posts and profile. You give Paddock a licence to store, display and transmit it for the purpose of running the app, and nothing beyond that. We do not sell it and we do not license it to anyone else. Only upload a profile picture or other image you own or have permission to use; do not copy somebody else's photograph, logo or artwork.

Threads is public inside the app. A post or a reply is visible to every signed-in account except the ones you have blocked or who have blocked you, shown with your username, your name and your profile picture. A like is counted on the post and is not shown to other readers with your name; the post's author may get a notification that names your username. A photo you attach to a post is stored at a public web address: anyone who has that address can open the picture without signing in, so do not attach anything you would not put on the open web.

Do not post: harassment or threats; hate speech targeting anyone; sexual content; anything depicting or encouraging dangerous driving; scams; impersonation of another person or business; anyone else's private information, including their address or plate; or anything illegal.

You can report Threads posts and replies, chat messages, meets, ads and people's accounts from the menu on each, and block people from the same menus. A convoy posted to the Events tab has no report control of its own; report the leader's account instead. Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours. For a copyright complaint, email [email protected] with the work you own, the Paddock URL or account involved, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised. Blocking somebody removes them from your map, your friends, your search results, your direct messages and your Threads immediately, and they are not told that you did it. It does not remove either of you from a convoy or group you already share, but inside a shared convoy, meet or group chat neither of you sees the other's messages any more; leave the convoy or group, or report the person, if sharing it is a problem. We may remove content and terminate accounts for violations without warning, and content that appears to involve a crime may be handed to law enforcement.

Voice chat

Convoy Voice exists only to coordinate an active road convoy. The account holder may use it only while they are driving as part of that convoy. Using it from home, work, school, as a passenger, or at any other time when the account holder is not driving is a violation of these terms. A driver may use it only through lawful hands-free audio; set it up before moving and do not touch or look at the phone while driving. Local law and safe driving always come first.

When every current convoy member has been stopped for five continuous minutes, Convoy Voice automatically disconnects everyone. A driver can reconnect after the convoy starts moving again. Location updates can be delayed or inaccurate, so this cutoff may occasionally happen late or early.

Do not use voice for harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, scams, impersonation, sharing private information, planning dangerous or illegal driving, flooding a channel, or disrupting a convoy. Everyone in the convoy can hear you, and passengers may hear you too.

Voice is transmitted live and Paddock does not record or store the audio. If somebody breaks these rules, mute or block them and report the account with as much detail as you can. Reports and service-use records may be used to enforce these terms. We may warn the user, restrict voice access, suspend the account or permanently terminate it depending on the seriousness and history of the violation.

Purchases

Convoy Voice is a monthly or annual subscription, per person. It renews until you cancel, and cancelling leaves it running to the end of the period you have already paid for. A subscription lets you speak on convoys you are a member of; it grants nothing to anybody else, and other members of a convoy do not need one in order to use the rest of the app.

Each plan includes a stated number of participant minutes per monthly allowance period. A participant minute is one minute that your account is connected to Convoy Voice, whether you are speaking or listening. Basic and Standard stop when their included allowance is used. Premium also stops at its included allowance unless you separately approve a prepaid minute pack through Apple. We do not charge overages automatically. Included subscription minutes reset each month and do not roll over. Purchased Premium pack minutes remain available until used. A short processing delay may allow or deduct part of an additional minute at the limit.

If you bought Convoy Voice outright before it became a subscription, it stays yours and does not start billing you.

Every purchase goes through Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, and we cannot issue one ourselves; request them through your Apple account. Subscriptions are cancelled the same way, in your Apple account settings, not in this app. Suspension or termination for violating these terms does not create a right to a prorated refund from us. This does not limit any refund or consumer right that the law or Apple's policies give you.

Business advertising plans are monthly subscriptions and renew until cancelled. Cancel any time and the plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. Prices can change with notice; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Website builds for businesses

A business can ask Paddock to build and host a website for it. There is no set price: it starts with a free consult, after which Paddock sends the business a written quote with two amounts, a one-time build fee and a monthly fee for hosting and keeping the site up to date. The consult and the quote are free and commit the business to nothing. If the business accepts the quote, it pays the build fee from its account page and the build starts; once the build has started, the build fee is not refundable. When the site is built, the monthly fee starts and the site goes live; it continues each month until cancelled, and cancelling stops hosting at the end of the period already paid for. Hosting is included in the Regional plan: while it is active, a site we built is hosted without the monthly fee. If the Regional plan ends, hosting continues only on the quoted monthly fee, which the business starts from its account page. Website builds are paid on the web through Stripe, not through the App Store, and are the one thing Paddock sells outside the app.

Meets that charge to get in

A host can mark a meet as having an entrance fee and say what it costs. That is a disclosure, nothing more. Paddock does not collect the money, does not process it, does not hold it, and takes no cut. You pay the host directly at the gate, on whatever terms they set, and that transaction is entirely between you and them.

Because we are not part of it, we cannot refund it, we cannot guarantee the price shown is what you will be charged, and we cannot guarantee the event happens at all. A host sets that number themselves and can change it or cancel. Treat a listed fee as what the host intends to charge, not as a ticket you have bought, because it is not one, and nothing in the app sells you one.

Hosts: if you charge, say so and say how much. Advertising a meet as free and then charging at the gate is a misrepresentation, and it will get the meet removed and the account with it. You are responsible for whatever permits, insurance, venue permission and tax your event actually requires. Paddock does not organise, sponsor, inspect or supervise any meet listed in the app.

Sponsored pins

Businesses can pay to place a pin on the map. Those pins are gold, are always labelled "Sponsored", and are drawn behind community meets so a paid placement never hides a real one. We do not sell your location history to advertisers and we do not build advertising profiles of you. A sponsored pin is shown because of where the map is looking, not because of who you are.

A business on a paid plan can also promote a meet it is hosting, which sorts that meet to the top of the list and marks it on the map. A promoted meet always carries a label naming the business that paid for it. At most two promoted meets appear in any list no matter how many are paid for, they expire, and only public meets the business is actually hosting are eligible, so a paid slot can never bury the community meets around it, and nobody can pay to attach themselves to somebody else's event.

Neither a sponsored pin nor a promoted meet is an endorsement. We do not organise, inspect or supervise anything listed in the app. What happens between you and a business you found through it is between you and that business.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from You → Settings → Delete account. It is immediate and it is not reversible. Your profile, location history, saved drives, meets you hosted, Threads posts and their photos, blocks and the messages you sent, including any position you shared in one, are erased, and so are your name, email address and words on anything you sent to support or booked with us. Reports filed about you are kept, as the record of why an account was removed; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what a kept report contains.

We can restrict features, suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms. Serious safety threats, illegal road activity, credible threats or repeated violations may lead to immediate termination; less serious first violations may receive a warning or temporary restriction. To appeal an enforcement decision, email [email protected] with the account email and enough detail to identify the decision. We can stop operating the service entirely with reasonable notice.

No warranty

Paddock is provided "as is". Live location depends on your phone's GPS, your network, and third-party map data, and any of the three can be wrong, late, or unavailable. Do not rely on the app for anything where being wrong matters, including finding somebody in an emergency, or as your only means of navigating an unfamiliar or hazardous road. Call emergency services, not a convoy.

To the maximum extent the law allows, Paddock disclaims all warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars. Some states do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as that state permits.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before filing anything, email [email protected] and give us 30 days to sort it out. Most things end there. If it cannot be resolved, you and Paddock agree to resolve the dispute in the state or federal courts located in New York, and each of us consents to that jurisdiction. Either of us may still bring a claim in small claims court.

Nothing here waives any right you have under the consumer protection laws of the state you live in.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Paddock after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, delete your account.
